La trata de personas, ¿es una violación de derechos humanos?
Main Article Content
Abstract
Human trafficking has been recently addressed legally. In the year 2000, the United Nations adopted the Palermo Protocol. At the national level, Mexico strengthened its legal framework by accepting the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and improving its ombudsman system around the adoption of said protocol. National laws were enacted to prevent and punish human trafficking. The aim of this article is to answer the question of whether human trafficking constitutes a violation of human rights, a crime, or both.
