Actualidad del pensamiento de Beccaria contra la tortura
Main Article Content
Abstract
In many instances Beccaria has been accused of plagiarize ideas exposed by other authors. Although this is partially true, there is no doubt that his merit for having synthesized a lot of these ideas in a short booklet, written in a simple and brilliant way, has manage to maintain its validity during two and a half centuries. Nonetheless, as far as the reasoning related to torture is concerned, the rejection that Beccaria had to it is whole, without any reservation nor exception, and not only because of purely utilitarian reasons, but also because of justice and humanist motives.
