Abstract

On its way to modernization of the criminal procedure – condition of the future and necessary globalization of the legal system - France has taken the first step, reaching a tipping point that makes the reform irreversible. The report of the Léger Commission, representing a comprehensive analysis of key issues in the criminal process, is the result of a direct commitment from the President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy. The following pages are the summary of this document, whose whole implementation will mean the definitive abandonment of the model based on the figure of the juez de instrucción
