On its way to modernization of the criminal procedure – condition of the future and necessary globalization of the legal system - France has taken the first step, reaching a tipping point that makes the reform irreversible. The report of the Léger Commission, representing a comprehensive analysis of key issues in the criminal process, is the result of a direct commitment from the President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy.
