Muchos de los problemas de la sociedad norteamericana han sido señalados como culpables los inmigrantes. Lo más problemático es que también han sido acusados de ser responsables del aumento de la incidencia delictiva. Estos señalamientos con frecuencia se estructuran a través de suposiciones y falsos estereotipos y han sido cuestionadas por una cantidad sustancial de evidencia científica que sugiere consistentemente que los inmigrantes son
