Immigration and crime in North America

Abstract

Many of the problems of American society have been blamed to the immigrants. The worst thing is that immigrants have also been accused of being responsible for the increase in crime incidence. These signs are often structured through assumptions and false stereotypes and have been challenged
by a substantial amount of scientific evidence that consistently suggests that immigrants are less likely to participate in crime than other
groups. This article examines some questions and unresolved problems in criminological research.
